Ada Mae Fisher, 82, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born July 23, 1942, in McAlisterville, a daughter of the late J. Harold Varner and Minnie (Gill) Bickhart. On March 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Leroy G. Fisher, who preceded her in death October 2, 2015.
Ada attended Gordon’s one-room schoolhouse in Buckwheat Valley and went on to attend Greenwood High School.
She worked at the shirt factory in East Salem for a while, before deciding to become a housewife, tending to the poultry farm and her family. She also worked on the election board for Greenwood Township for many years.
Ada was a member of the Richfield Fire & Ambulance Company and attended St. Peters Community Church, Millerstown.
She cared deeply for her family, enjoyed attending carnivals, going to yardsales, and playing bingo. She loved talking to friends and family on the phone and enjoyed family trips to Canada.
Ada is survived by her daughter, Mechele Fisher of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and her lifetime friend, Raquel Lyter; her son, John Fisher, and his wife Theresa of Mt. Pleasant Mills; two grandsons, Jordan Rebuck, and his companion Caitlin, and Damian Fisher; two great-grandchildren, June and Roman Rebuck; one sister, Norma Weimer, and her husband Sam, of McAlisterville; one brother, Roy Bickhart, and his wife Vickie, of Phoenixville; one brother-in-law, Donald P. Fisher, and his wife Alemda, of Millerstown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene (Bickhart) Auker, and her husband Richard.
Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2025, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, where a funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Brittin Stimeling officiating.
Burial will follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.
