    Charles A. “Charlie” Fegley, 79, of Millerstown, entered eternal rest on Tuesday,
    
    May 16, 2023, at his brother’s home in Millerstown.
   
  
   
   
    Charlie was born on September 19, 1943, in Richfield, a son of the late Luther
    
    Bloom Fegley and Alda Florence (Feltman) Fegley Taylor.
   
  
   
   
    He was a 1961 graduate of Greenwood High School. While in high school, he was
    
    the secretary of their FFH and served as class president. In July of 1961, he
    
    enlisted with the United States Navy where he graduated from the Aviation
    
    Familiarization School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis, TN.
    
    He proudly served our country as an aviation mechanic and serviced aircraft
    
    aboard the USS Kearsarge. While serving onboard the USS Kearsarge, he had the
    
    privilege to witness Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper splash down into the ocean.
   
  
   
   
    After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1964, Charlie was employed by
    
    United Telephone Company installing switchboards. His desire was to always be a
    
    truck driver. After a few years working for the telephone company, he ventured
    
    out and became a self-employed truck driver. He proudly owned and operated
    
    F & L Trucking for many years delivering potatoes from Florida.
    
    Charlie was a member of St. Peters Community.
   
  
   
   
    Early in life, Charlie built and raced drag cars. He was a car enthusiast that
    
    enjoyed attending antique car shows with his late daughter, Renee. He owned a
    
    sprint car which was driven by Todd Shafer. Another passion of his was entering
    
    tractors in parades.
   
  
   
   
    Charlie is survived by his brother, Richard (Rich) Fegley and his wife Gayle; two
    
    sisters, Ethel Fegley and Nancy Fegley Losch; and numerous nieces, nephews,
    
    great-nieces and great-nephews.
   
  
   
   
    He is preceded in passing by his daughter, Renee Fegley who entered eternal rest
    
    on May 16, 2022; his parents, Luther and Alda; siblings, William Fegley, Marian
   
  
   
    Fegley Hartman, and Suzanne (Susie) Fegley Willow; stepfather, Roscoe Taylor;
    
    and brother-in-law, Joseph Losch.
   
  
   
   
    A viewing will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
    
    the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Community Church, 32 St. Peters
    
    Church Road, Millerstown, PA 17062, with Pastor Brittin Stimeling officiating.
   
  
   
   
    Internment will immediately follow in the adjoining St. Peters Cemetery.
   
  
   
   
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Charlie may be
    
    sent to St. Peters Community Church, c/o Rileen M. Heckman, Treasurer, 2484
