Obituary

Chester L. Strawser, Sr., 77, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 5, 1949, in Liverpool, a son of the late Benjamin F. Strawser, Sr. and Charlotte A. (Hoffman) Strawser. In August 1977, he married the former Connie M. Kline, who survives.

Chester grew up in Liverpool, where he attended and graduated from Greenwood High School.

He knew the value of labor, dedicating himself to both farming and his business, Strawser Excavation & Hauling, which he operated for 40 years.

Chester was a member Dressler’s Ridge United Methodist Church.

He was a gun lover and enjoyed hunting, watching Nascar, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his beloved wife, his legacy lives on through his son and daughter-in-law, Chester L. Strawser, Jr. and Ariel Strawser; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Almeda Fisher.

In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by two sons, Keith R. Strawser and Curtis L. Strawser; two brothers, Benjamin Strawser, Jr. and Gerald Strawser, Sr.; and two sisters, Mayetta Ferguson and Velma Kerstetter.

Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, and again from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Andy Bucke officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John (Barner's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool.
