Donald "Donnie" L. Brubaker, Sr.

Donald “Donnie” L. Brubaker, Sr., 75, of Liverpool, entered into rest unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

He was born August 26, 1950, in Lewistown, a son of the late Melvin Brubaker, Sr. and Maybelline (Chambers) Brubaker. On October 19, 1991, he married Penny (Shope) Brubaker, who he shared 34 wonderful years with.

Donnie worked as a baker at Stroehman’s Bakery and, later, processed turkeys at Empire Kosher, before retiring.

More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, but he also enjoyed attending flea markets and acting as the Village Merchants’ loyal, unofficial security guard.

In addition to his beloved wife, Donnie is survived by four children, Donald Brubaker, Jr. and his wife, Victoria, Paul Brubaker and his wife, Mary, Jennifer Shope-Longenecker and her husband, John, and William R. Williams and his wife, Lindy; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Gary Brubaker and his wife, Margaret “Peg”, of McAlisterville, Barry Brubaker and his wife, Dorothy, of Richfield, Nancy Henry and her husband, Jeff, of Lewistown, and Robert “Bob” Brubaker of McAlisterville; and one sister-in-law, Deb Brubaker of Thompsontown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson in infancy, Colin Brubaker; a sister in infancy, Barbara Ann Brubaker; a brother, Melvin “Butch” Brubaker, Sr.; and a daughter, Susan Singh.

Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., with his brother Barry Brubaker officiating.

There will be no graveside service.
