Doris J. Hendricks

Doris J. Hendricks, 81, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered into rest Thursday, December 11, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born May 11, 1944, in Dillsburg, a daughter of the late Paul and Edith (Hopple) Miller. On July 11, 1972, she married Norton Hendricks, who preceded her in death in 1975.

Doris was a graduate of Northern High School in Dillsburg.

She worked as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 32 years, before retiring in 1995.

Doris was a member of St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills and a former member of Dillsburg Assembly of God Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles, word searches, and hunting.

Doris is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Terry Kerstetter of Mt. Pleasant Mills; two grandchildren, Blain Kerstetter and his wife, Katie, and Matthew Kerstetter and his companion, Austin Hough; 9 siblings, Richard (Joan) Miller, Barry (Bev) Miller, Larry (Sally) Miller, M. Keith (Nelda) Miller, George (Mary Alice) Miller, Charles (Dee) Miller, Jan (Larry) Wonders, Laura Hartman, and Jo Laird; 32 nieces and nephews; over 60 great-nieces and great-nephews; an uncle, Ed (Dot) Hopple; an aunt, Louetta Hopple; and her grandchildren’s furbabies, Callie, Bruce, Penelope, and Lucas.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Paul Miller, Jr., Ruthanna Miller, Les Miller, and Marian Miller; and her companion of over 30 years, John Kashtock.

Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, 1070 St. Thomas Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, where a funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Roger Womer officiating.

Burial will be private, in Witmer’s West Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
