Glen A. Sheaffer

Glen A. Sheaffer, 89, of Lewisburg, formerly of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered into rest Monday, May 18, 2026, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

He was born September 29, 1936, in Port Trevorton, a son of the late William and Anna B. (Fry) Sheaffer. On October 20, 1956, he married the former Leatha A. Wendt, who preceded him in death January 11, 2019.

Glen worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction, for H.J. Williams, for 30 years. He then took up dairy farming, which he did for 25 years, before retiring.

He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills, where he served on the board, United Steelworkers, and the NRA.

Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, hosting the family & friends annual summer picnic, and spending time at “Sheaffer’s Lucky 5 Cabin” in Potter County.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Brenda S. Sheaffer and her companion Daniel L. Williams, Bradley A. and Blairene Sheaffer, Shelly Sheaffer-Bittner and Mark, and Phillip L. and Tanja Sheaffer; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer Cobble, Randi Sheaffer, Cerissa Herman, Michael Ptacin, Joshua Sheaffer, Lara Johnston, Danielle Hale, Kevin Meiser, Lacey Dupert, Jessie Mays, Matthew Sheaffer, Erica Sheaffer, Dale W. Sheaffer, Jr., and Anthony Sheaffer; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife of 62 years, Glen was preceded in death by two sons, Dale W. Sheaffer, Sr. and Brian W. Sheaffer; and one brother, Kenneth Sheaffer.

Family and friends are welcome from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, where a funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Pete Carnahan officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
