H. Marguerite Aucker, 93, of Port Trevorton, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

She was born February 8, 1932, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late William T., Sr. and Helen Mae (Suffel) Sholley. On December 15, 1956, she married John R. Aucker, who preceded her in death November 3, 2003.

Marguerite was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School.

She worked as a weaver at Sunbury Textile Mills.

Marguerite was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, formerly Paradise United Methodist Church. She also participated in the Ladies Auxiliary at Port Trevorton Fire Company.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, spending time with her little dogs, organizing family reunions, and exploring her family’s genealogy. She was also active with her Amish neighbors and often pieced Lonestar and Log Cabin quilts and donated them to the fire company and to Hoover’s Sewing Store’s annual raffle.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Dale VanHorn; two grandchildren and their spouses, Stacie and Jason Horst, and Wesley and Tiffany VanHorn; four grandchildren, Logan Horst, Alexis Horst, Kaden VanHorn, and Beau VanHorn; a brother, Donald (Gunnel) Sholley; a sister-in-law, Nancy Sholley; and her furbaby, Mia.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 46 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard L. Sholley and William T. Sholley, Jr.

The family would like to thank Marguerite’s devoted caregivers, Dianne Lamb, Maranda Martin, Ada Brubaker, and the staff at Brookline Manor.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
