Helen M. Sheaffer

Helen M. Sheaffer, 89, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered into rest Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born May 5, 1936, in Monroe Township, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Hazel Mae (Willow) Graham. On August 16, 1952, she married Charles A. Sheaffer, who preceded her in death December 23, 2021.

Helen attended Greenwood High School.

She worked as a seamstress at Benner’s Shirt Factory. She later worked at the Susquehanna Valley Mall and Auntie Anne’s. She also took pride in being a caregiver for her parents and grandchildren.

Helen was a member of the Tuscarora Brethren Church in Port Royal.

She enjoyed baking pies, cooking, and taking care of others.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Sharon Leonard and her husband, and Susan “Sue” Hoffman; a grandson, Christopher Leonard, and his wife Allison; and two great-grandchildren, Timothy and Elizabeth Leonard.

In addition to her husband of 69 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Barry Sheaffer.

Burial will be private in Aline Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s name can be made to the Tuscarora Brethren Church, 16953 PA-333, Port Royal, PA 17082.
