Howard E. Taylor

Howard E. Taylor, 93, of Mifflintown, and formerly of Dornsife, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Howard was born on August 9, 1933, in Millerstown, son of the late Frank and Margaret (Swartz) Taylor. On August 16, 1956, he married the late Betty (Daniel) Taylor, who preceded him in passing on June 8, 2015.

In December of 1954, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1962.

Having his own family farm, Howard was proud to dedicate his life to farming. In earlier years, he worked at Wehry’s Hog Farm and Mandata Poultry.

Howard was raised of the Lutheran faith in a loving home shared with his parents and siblings. When he married Betty, and their family grew, he passionately loved his family, and enjoyed time with all of them, especially his generations of grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and acquired lifetime licenses in both recreational sports.

Howard is survived by his children, Patsy Picarelli (Mario) of Coal Township, Linda (Dale) Sweigart of Liverpool, Bonnie Taylor of Dornsife, Ruthann (Bob) Stauffer of Dornsife, Connie Bohner and her companion Steve Brosious of Sunbury, and Rodney (Melanie) Taylor of York; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife and parents, Howard is preceded in passing by four brothers and five sisters.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until a time of sharing by friends and family at 1:00 p.m., at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
