Jodie L. Newton, 56, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born October 9, 1969, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert C. Weidlich and Susan I. (Cummings) Byers. On July 1, 2023, she married Joseph “Joey” Newton, III, who survives.

Jodie was a 1988 graduate of Greenwood High School.

She worked at Amwins as an insurance underwriter.

Jodie enjoyed crafting, spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and making candy and chocolate.

In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by one son, Samuel Schock and his wife, Alexandra; 5 siblings, Diane Byers and her companion Wayne Himes, Mathew Byers, Nicole Dale, Dorothy McConnell, and Melanie Weidlich; two step-daughters, Brittany Newton and her companion Daniel Egresites, and Maggie Cisney and her husband, Dylan; 6 grandchildren, Connor Newton, Mason Cisney, Evelyn Cisney, Charlie Cisney, Oliver Cisney, and Anya Egresites; numerous nieces and nephews; and grand-furbabies.

In addition to her parents, Jodie was preceded in death by her twin brother at birth, Jamie Lee Cummings.

Family and friends are welcome to visit from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045. No formal services will be held.
