Lorraine E. Longacre, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2026.

Born on December 17, 1941, Lorraine grew up in the Port Trevorton, Pennsylvania area. She dedicated many years to working in local sewing factories and later in the cafeteria at Susquehanna University. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant Mills.

Lorraine found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoying days outside admiring her flowers and watching the birds while her husband tended to the garden. She cherished summer picnics, sewing, shopping, going out to eat, and relaxing with word searches and solitaire while a good western or a Phillies game played on tv.

She shared a long-lasting marriage with her husband, Jacob Longacre, for 61 years, a partnership admired by many, filled with love, laughter, and playful joking.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her father and mother, Norman Heintzelman and Blanche (Campbell) Heintzelman; her sister and brother-in-law Faye and Glenn Mengle; her brother, Dale Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob Longacre; her brother and sister-in-law, Marlin “Butch” and Veda Heintzelman; her daughter, Brenda; her son and daughter-in-law, Bryon and Mitzi; her granddaughter Ashley and her husband Scott; her great-grandson soon to arrive; and her granddaughter Brittany and her son Jaxon. She is also survived by extended family and friends who will deeply miss her.

Lorraine will be remembered for her caring heart, her faith, and the way she made time for the people she loved. Her memory will live on in the many moments shared with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 9465 PA-35, Mount Pleasant Mills, on February 21 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend John E. Lee. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service, with a fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
