Mary A. Zaring

Mary A. Zaring, 99, of Mechanicsburg, entered into rest on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.

She was born March 1, 1927, in Millerstown, a daughter of the late John and Bertha “Stattie” (Barnes) McGowan. In October 1948, she married Guy Kenneth Zaring, who preceded her in death in December 1996.

Mary was a graduate of Millerstown High School and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Perry Valley.

She was a member of Liverpool United Methodist Church.

Mary enjoyed cooking, and visiting with her neighbors, especially the children in her neighborhood.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Elmer “Joe” Keach.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of 48 years, Mary was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Pat McGowan.

Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N Front St., Liverpool, PA 17045, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Robert Basom officiating.

Burial will follow in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
