Robert “Bobby” C. Gelnett, 90, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at home.
He was born June 7, 1935, in Liverpool, a son of the late Clayton B. and Ruth M. (Kauffman) Gelnett. On September 13, 1958, he married the former Ruth L. Garlin, who survives.
Bobby was a 1953 graduate of Greenwood High School.
He served in the United States Army followed by the National Guard from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1961.
Bobby owned and operated his own business, Bob Gelnett’s TV & Satellite, for over 50 years before retiring. After retiring from the TV business, he worked part-time as a bus rider and classroom aide for Juniata County Head Start, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Bob.”
He was a member of the Newport-Tennis Masonic Lodge 381 for over 50 years, as well as the Liverpool American Legion Post 364 and formerly, the Liverpool Lions Club. He was also a very active lifetime member of St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, Liverpool, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and acted as treasurer for a time.
Bobby enjoyed history, cutting firewood, traveling, and in his younger years, hunting and fishing. He could fix just about anything.
In addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, he is survived by one daughter, Wendy Gelnett of Millerstown; and one granddaughter, Brittany Ciccocioppo, and her husband Derek.
Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, 5 Barner Road, Liverpool, PA 17045, where a masonic service will be begin at 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Bob Lescallette officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
