Ruth L. Gelnett, 86, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Stonebridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
She was born November 22, 1939, in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Frank W. and Cora (Reich) Garlin. On September 13, 1958, she married Robert “Bobby” C. Gelnett, who preceded her in death just three weeks prior, on January 10, 2026.
Ruth was a 1957 graduate of Greenwood High School.
She was a secretary for the State of Pennsylvania, worked as a cashier at IGA, and cleaned many houses over the years.
Ruth devoted much of her time to volunteer work, including for the Aurora Club, as a Girl Scout leader, and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, Liverpool, where she also sang in the church choir and cantatas.
She enjoyed cooking elaborate meals, entertaining guests in her home, and antiquing.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Wendy Gelnett of Millerstown; and a granddaughter, Brittany Ciccocioppo, and her husband Derek.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 67 years, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Frank Garlin.
A service will be held privately at a later date.
