William R. Himmelwright

William R. Himmelwright, 96, of Vowinckel, entered into rest on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at home.

He was born February 5, 1930, in Freeburg, a son of the late William and Lottie (Roush) Himmelwright.

William attended school in Freeburg.

He was very passionate about construction, working as a supervisor for C.J. Langerfelder & Son, Inc. for 40 years. His dedication to his work took him to many different areas, but he ultimately ended up in the Pittsburgh area upon retirement.

In his free time, William enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to his log cabin in Cook Forest and hosting other hunters during deer season, and, later in life, cooking and baking.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard “Rick” A. Himmelwright, and William C. and Bernadine Himmelwright; three grandchildren, William J. Himmelwright and his wife Jaclyn, Heather M. Andrade, and Kurt M. Himmelwright and his wife Carla; 9 great-grandchildren, William T., Helena, Adelyn, Haley, Benjamin, Ellie, Alice, June, and Hank Michael; four sisters, Margie Freed and her husband Elwood, Sally Ann Freed, Mary Lou Miller and her husband Larry “Butch,” and Karen Clayberger and her husband Colin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, William was preceded in death by three siblings, Claude Himmelwright, Nancy Shaffer, and Shirley Baus.

Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2026, at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Colin Clayberger officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Freeburg.
