Charles Fegley Obituary

Charles A. Fegley
Millerstown, PA

Charles A. “Charlie” Fegley, 79, of Millerstown, entered eternal rest on Tuesday,
May 16, 2023, at his brother’s home in Millerstown.

Charlie was born on September 19, 1943, in Richfield, a son of the late Luther
Bloom Fegley and Alda Florence (Feltman) Fegley Taylor.

He was a 1961 graduate of Greenwood High School. While in high school, he was
the secretary of their FFH and served as class president. In July of 1961, he
enlisted with the United States Navy where he graduated from the Aviation
Familiarization School at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis, TN.
He proudly served our country as an aviation mechanic and serviced aircraft
aboard the USS Kearsarge. While serving onboard the USS Kearsarge, he had the
privilege to witness Astronaut L. Gordon Cooper splash down into the ocean.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1964, Charlie was employed by
United Telephone Company installing switchboards. His desire was to always be a
truck driver. After a few years working for the telephone company, he ventured
out and became a self-employed truck driver. He proudly owned and operated
F & L Trucking for many years delivering potatoes from Florida.
Charlie was a member of St. Peters Community.

Early in life, Charlie built and raced drag cars. He was a car enthusiast that
enjoyed attending antique car shows with his late daughter, Renee. He owned a
sprint car which was driven by Todd Shafer. Another passion of his was entering
tractors in parades.

Charlie is survived by his brother, Richard (Rich) Fegley and his wife Gayle; two
sisters, Ethel Fegley and Nancy Fegley Losch; and numerous nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his daughter, Renee Fegley who entered eternal rest
