Eloise L. (Shaffer) Gehman, 93, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

She was born on March 29, 1930, in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Milton and Verna (Swartz) Shaffer.  On March 8, 1956, Eloise married the late Harvey L. Gehman, who preceded her on April 14, 2015.

Eloise was a loving homemaker that loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved being around her polled Herefords and cats when her and Harvey farmed.  She also enjoyed quilting, doing crafts, and hunting seashells on the beach in Florida where her and Harvey spent their winters.  Her family was most important to her, and she will be missed. 

She was a member of Richfield Life Ministries Church.

Eloise is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Gehman Moyer and her husband Robert A.; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Moyer and his wife Carrisa, Joshua R. Moyer and fiance’ Kelly Dreisbach, and Jenny L. Zeigler and her husband Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren, Sarah Folk and her husband John, Rachel Moyer, Emily Moyer, Hallie Moyer, Daniel Moyer, Owen Moyer, Logan Moyer, Mason Zeigler, and Cooper Zeigler; three great-grandchildren, Katianna, Lillian Joy, and Isabelle; three great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Aubree, and Jaxson; and sister, Hilda Mitterling Wolfe.

Eloise is preceded by her parents; husband, Harvey; siblings, Gloria Shaffer in infancy, Lenore Shipman, Harold Shaffer, Carol Wagner; and nephews, Tony Shaffer and Michael Shaffer.

Per her wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Eloise be forwarded to the Danville SPCA, 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
