Obituary

Glenn R. Graham

Orrstown, PA

Glenn Robert Graham, 79, of Orrstown and formerly of Richfield, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on August 30, 1943, in Oriental, a son of the late Charles and Hazel (Willow) Graham.  On August 1, 1964, he married Shirley (Sanders) Graham, who survives.

Together, Glenn and Shirley had five sons, Glenn (Kimbra), Kory (Heather), Dameon, Quentin (Shawnee), and Travis Graham.  Glenn is also survived by nine grandchildren, Brandi Eshelman, Ashton Smith, Quentin Graham, Jr., Pearce, Eli, and Alexis Graham, Tory and Kory Graham, Jr., and Konnor Graham; three great-grandchildren, Jasper Eshelman, Bridger Smith, and Paisley Graham; and four sisters, Pauline Turnbaugh, Helen Sheaffer, Violet Inch, and Judy Tamani.

On February 3, 2017, Glenn married Esther (Zeis) Graham who survives.  With this union, Glenn had eight stepchildren, Dennis (Sue) Zeis, Richard (Sue) Theimer, Kandi (Randy) Kershner, Christine (Derick) Livingston, Rhonda Suders, Heather Kauffman, Jonathan Theimer, and Danielle Gordon; twenty step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and his loving dogs, Toby, Panda, and Sugar.

Preceding Glenn in passing are his parents; one brother, John Graham; one granddaughter, Maura Graham; and one step-great-grandchild.

Glenn retired from Hempt Brothers, Inc. where he was employed for over 45 years.  His construction career had him traveling many miles in Pennsylvania and consisted of many tasks, including equipment operator, laborer, and mechanic.  Glenn hung up his hard hat in 1980 for about ten years and dedicated his time to farming the family’s dairy farm.  After the milking days came to an end, he went back to road construction for Hempt’s until his retirement in 2015.

Glenn enjoyed watching birds and wildlife, and planting flowers, trees, and bushes in his yard.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting on the farm and going to McKean County to hunt and enjoy nature on his acres of land.

A memorial service will be held at the family farm on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. for family and close friends.

The family has entrusted the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Glenn’s care.  Visit garmanfh.com to leave condolences.
