Ronald I. “Ron” Elsesser, 85, of Selinsgrove, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Ron was born on October 1, 1938, in Richfield, a son of the late Edward and Sarah (Shellenberger) Elsesser.  On July 21, 1956, he married the love of his life, Doris (Bingaman) Elsesser, who survives.

Early in life, Ron was employed at Mohawk Door.  Later, he was a self-employed lumberjack, and, then he retired from National Limestone Quarry as a truck driver.

He was a lifetime member of Hummels Wharf Fire Company.  Ron and Doris attended Ebenezer Bible Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Judy Varner (Rich, Jr.), Ronald Elsesser, Jr. (Margie), Barry Elsesser, Bonny Musser, and Kathy Kunst (Joe); grandchildren, Tammy Ulrich (Bryan), Roger Varner (Jennyfer), Jimmy Elsesser (Tina), Brian Elsesser (Leslie), Stacy Elsesser, Jean Mattern, James Elsesser, and Valerie Bowen (Keven); and 8 great-grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in passing by his parents; grandson, Jeremy Elsesser; and sisters, Wanda Arbogast, Jean Kuhn, and Fae Bailor.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Pastor Pete Carnahan officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.

In lieu of any flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Ron be made to Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837 or Ebenezer Bible Church, c/o David Kratzer, 735 Ebenezer Church Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
